The UK-CHINA Photography Association (UCPA) is an officially registered non-official association, which gathered together over a hundred of UK-based Chinese photographers. The UCPA is aims to improve the mutual understanding, friendship and cultural-art communication of artists and photographers between the UK and China.
For the purpose of celebrating the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, as well as the 65th anniversary of the establishment of China-UK diplomatic relationship at the level of chargé d’affaires, UCPA organised the Beautiful China, Beautiful Britain: the Golden Era of China-UK Relations Chinese Art exhibition, together with the institute of Chinese Seal Engraving Art, China Pictorial, Westminster City Council, the institute of British Culture, Central Hall Westminster, and other 12 institutions.
The exhibition tends to tell the China story in the context of the Golden Era of China-UK Relations through photography, Seal Engraving art, calligraphy and painting, as well as British people’s understanding and impression of China’s rapid development. This is an artistic approach of promoting Chinese outstanding art and culture to the world. It also expressed the deep love to both UK and China from UK-based Chinese.
The exhibition will celebrate its opening on the 25th September in the Central Hall Westminster and will have the welcome dinner in the House of Commons.
